Vortex Generator kits

from $75.00

Used for fine tuning your aero package, these vortex generators come preset at the perfect angle to create attached flow in any area where boundary layer turbulence is causing drag and compromising the effectiveness of aerodynamic elements.

Made from .040 5052 aircraft aluminum, they come backed with 3M VHB adhesive for a simple peel and stick installation onto any clean, smooth surface. Available in raw aluminum, satin, or gloss black finishes, they are an easy and attractive way to upgrade the overall efficiency of your aero package.

Some locations that can benefit from Vortex generators include:
- The top of the rear window in fastback cars: By keeping boundary layer flow better attached to the rear window, they reduce turbulence-induced drag and smooth the airflow beneath the wing.
- The A-pillars: The high pressure bow wave coming off the sides of the windshield is a big source of drag and buffeting in the cabin when this flow enters the open window on a track car. VGs keep flow better attached to the a-pillars, and the vortices they produce help to bridge flow across the open window, decreasing drag and improving cabin comfort by reducing buffeting.
- At the trailing edge of your splitter blade. On flat splitter blades, the squared trailing edge is often an area of detached flow as air rolls off the back and rises to meet the floor downstream. By running VG’s slightly upstream from the trailing edge, it’s possible to energize the boundary layer for better attached flow under the car, making flat floors and rear diffusers work harder.

Note: due to customization options, this product is produced on demand. Please allow 2-3 weeks for fabrication, powdercoating and shipping.
